Chasing The Monsoon is a collaborative music project fusing powerful rhythmic elements and ambient, experimental soundscapes with progressive rock, Celtic and world music influences.

Ian is a co-founding member of Chasing The Monsoon. Whilst working with  Steve on Karnataka’s Delicate Flame of Desire album, they discussed the idea of a new project that would draw on influences from progressive to world and ambient, including Deep Forest, One Giant Leap and Enigma.

Ian named the project after a book of the same name written by Alexander Frater. The book charted the physical and personal journey of Frater who followed the monsoon as it traversed India. The name also continued Ian’s connection with India.

Ian is also a  founder member of KARNATAKA who have released several critically acclaimed albums including Delicate Flame of Desire (produced by Chasing The Monsoon’s Steve Evans), The Gathering Light and Secrets of Angels.

Ian is also one half of ILLUMINAE, a new collaboration with vocalist Agnieszka Swita which features special guests Steve Hackett, Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett), John Helliwell (Supertramp),  Troy Donockley (Nightwish) , Luke Machin and Gonzalo Carrera.

Ian plays: Bass, keyboards, guitars and programming.

Steve is also the Co-founding member of Chasing The Monsoon.

Having Produced the acclaimed Karnataka Album Delicate Flame of Desire Steve got to work on writing new material for the Monsoon Project alongside the other members of CTM.

Steve’s career spans many years at Warner Chappell Music Scandinavia Stockholm where he was in house Songwriter/ Producer. Signed by Roy Colegate in the early 90s  and working with many top names in the industry Steve has notched up an impressive body of work massing to over 20 Million units in sales

Sound Design is also a passion for Steve and being part of CTM gives him scope to channel his energies for the soundscapes he creates.

Steve plays: Keyboards, guitars, vocals, programming.

Ian is a guitarist, artist and designer who has known Ian J and Steve E since school days.  He has written with Steve on many projects, including an album of funk originals with ex Hear’Say and West End star Noel Sullivan.

He has also written and released his own original material in the jazz and blues genres and has been a regular performer in jazz venues and festivals across the UK and Europe.

As well as the music Ian is an illustrator whose work has featured on many book covers and publications, working with writers such as Neil Gaiman and horror writer Paul Kane.

Ian plays: Lead and acoustic guitars, vocals, programming.

Lisa is a co-writer & vocalist for Chasing The Monsoon & Karnataka’s ‘The Gathering Light’. She writes & records in a wide variety of musical genre’s & you will find her on several international albums inc in Australia & Russia!

Lisa is having continuing success in recording vocals for television adverts, writing & recording for film & tv and for her iconic portrayal of Stevie Nicks in the internationally renowned tribute show, Fleetwood Bac.

Troy Donockley has built up a formidable reputation as a Composer/Arranger/Producer and as a Multi-Instrumentalist Musician/Performer.

He is a leading virtuoso/ innovator of the Uilleann Pipes (and Low Whistle). His music can be heard in Film, TV documentaries, media and various commissions and he has contributed to Blockbuster Movies such as “Robin Hood” and “Ironclad”. He is a member of the symphonic metal band Nightwish and he also co-founded the acclaimed group “The Bad Shepherds” with Adrian Edmondson. As a Producer/Musician he has recorded and toured with various artists such as Karnataka, Maddy Prior, Midge Ure, Barbara Dickson, Iona, Maire Brennan (Clannad), Roy Harper, Status Quo, Ayreon, Lesley Garrett, Del Amitri, Alan Stivell, Mostly Autumn and many, many more.

Hailing from Genoa in Italy and now living in London, Enrico Pinna is a guitarist and former member of Karnataka who played on the band’s  The Gathering Light and Secrets of Angels albums.

Gethin Woolcock is a musician and record producer currently residing in Swansea, South Wales.

He has worked at several commercial studios and honed his record production skills under the guidance of Joe Gibb (Janes Addiction, The Mission, Leftfield) at Mighty Atom studios.

He has worked in recording/production and or session musician roles with artists including Taint, Brigade, Sigiryia, Succioperro, Lonely the Brave, My Alamo, David R Black, Screaming Eagle, Three Colours Red, B Movie Heroes, Ashokan, Indica, Hollywood Ending, Hondo Mclean, OST, Sancho Panzer, Cimmarron, Gypsy Pistoleros, Mook and many more.
